Sugar City John Berry Tournament

Jared and I spent Friday and Saturday at the wrestles.  The boys did awesome.  The whole team did a great job.  The team finish the tournament taking 3rd place and Tyler took fourth place @ 135 and wrestled tough.  Kody took 2nd @ 119 and wrestled a Senoir from North Fremont who is a 2 time state champ and gave him a run for his money. He even had his back to the mat for a while,  that got the crowd screaming.  I love to watch the boys do their best.  They have worked hard for a lot of years and now they get to see the rewards.  Great sport for boys to build character.  We wrestle @ South Fremont on Tuesday and Aberdeen tournament this weekend.

Jared and Ken will leaving in the next week or so to get started on the job in California.  I am not looking forward to not having him around but we have to go where the work is.  He is a hard working man for his family and I am very greatful for that.  He has taught our kids how to work hard too.

I am very blessed to have 6 awesome kids and a loving suportive husband.

What is up with my new computer????

So I bought a new computer
before Thanksgiving because the
portals on the old laptop don't respond when
you plug something into them.
Now my new computer has some sort
of virus and won't let me sign into my
blog and won't let me close my internet.
 I got a few
crafts
done this weekend but can't show them
off until I get it worked on.  So aggrivating.
I will have to post them a tad
bit later I guess.

Some crafts I want to try

I have been scanning the thrift shop looking
 for a couple of items.  I haven't
found some but I have got to
try some of these.  I love
finding great things
that I can recreate to
make them my own.
I may be doing some
of them tomorrow if J goes
snowmobiling.  It is always
fun to have a "Girls day"
when you have four
little girls that love to make
a creative mess.

Ward Conf.

As we went to another ward confernce I am amazed at what can happen when you listen to the spirit.  I am greatful for this calling and the opportunity I have to grow by teaching others.  I know my Heavenly Father loves me and puts things in front of my face so I can help others.
I picked up a book today that my kids had bought me for mothers day last year and the first paragraph hit me up side of my head.  I knew at that moment that I had to put the book down and act on what I had just read.  Funny thing the name of the book is called "Whisperings of the Spirit".  I clearly heard the message.  Not a whisper but I heard the message loud and clear.
As we spoke today I feel that I have been blessed to have the strength to make it through some of the trials that I have had in my life and that I am better because I have been able to grow from those experinces.
I will never turn down a calling.  I have grown so much from all of them.  I have recieved more than I have ever given.

In A Crafty Mood

I have really been in the mood to craft.  Here are some of the hairbows I have made for my girls.  They love to have flowers and bows in their hair.  Lucky for me.  Lexie even gave some away for a birthday present.

Let it snow.

First day of winter sports for Cami and Lexie.  I am going up with Elli and we are going to hit Shoshone all day.  Elli is 3 and is loving to go skiing.  Should be pretty good weather until later this evening.  So cute to see her skiing at 3.
The weather says we are going to get 7-15 inches of snow in the next 24 hours.  Followed by 2 more storms in the next 3 or 4 days.  This si music to my ears.  I love a good snow storm.  I love being cooped up in the house for a couple of days, just watching the snow accumulate.  Havent have a good storm in a while.  I say LET IT SNOW!

Blessings are everywhere

Today was the beginning of the crazy schedule of Ward Confrences.  I am so blessed to get to be in the Ward Confernce meetings.  The Spirit is so strong,  hearing testimonies of the leaders of the wards and the stake is awe-inspiring.  I know that it can be long, grueling days but the feeling I get is so worth it.  I am learning so much from the young women of this stake and their leaders.  I realize I have such a long way to go to reach their level.  They bring me to humble myself and to open my heart to the Spirit so i can learn and grow even more.  I am very greatful for my calling and the opportunity I have to work with the youth of this stake.  They are so much stronger than I ever could have been.  They make me look at myself and take a reality check at the example I am being to them.  I know I have been put here for a reason and I know that I am learning so much about myself and sometimes that is a little more than I really want to do.  I know Heavenly Father is at my side helping me to relay the message he wants me to give.  All wards are needing their own lessons and inspiration.  I felt His Spirit with me today as we spoke to the girls.  Callings are not very easy but they are a blessing and they are everywhere if we will just step up and open yourself up to do the Lord's work.

These are the book marks we gave out today.  I hope that when they look at these they will remember who they are and it is what is inside that makes the differnce.

Hailey's Photos

Awesome picture of Hailey.  She let me take some pics.  Her eyes just pop out in this one.

I took a few pictures of Haily so I could mess around with them on my photo Shop Elements program.  She looks beautiful.  I especially love the first.  Here are the before and afters.  In the wrong order.

Snake River Wrestles

Went to Snake River to watch the boys wrestle last night.  It was a frenzy when I got there.  The boys were supposed to have a 2 pound weight advantage but our athletic director, Brody Birch did not call ahead to let them know so about half of our team was over weight.  We had to shift a few boys around and forfiet some of the weights but they wrestled tough.  If it weren't for the weight mix up our team would have won the dual.  Kody ended up wrestling 15 pounds under the weight of the other guy and struggled but wrestled awesome.  Had the kid trying to jump off the mat and pulled him, Literally, back on the mat.  Today will be nice to stay home and get a few things done here that i have been wanting to do.  My big project is to tackle the office/exercise room/craft room.  Maybe I'll post some pics of before and after.  It needs a major overhaul.
Had a little surprise last night.  While i was sitting there waiting for the Varsity wrestlers to start and watching the flag come down for the pledge I here over the announcers voice that an old Snake River student will be singing the national anthem, then I hear my name announced.  I look over at the announcers stand and Devin is grinnin from ear to ear.  I just looked at him and said " very funny".  I think the funniest thing was that after it all, everyone was asking me if I was really supposed to sing.  I would have embarrassed both sides.  Teton for knowing me and Snake River for letting me sing the song in the first place.  Coach Piva was the most confused.  He must not know how to take a little sarcasm.  I hope all were entertained by the situation.  Devin better watch his back.  He is on my list.  Gotta love him.  I had a great time getting to see quite a few people I hadn't seen for at least 15 years.  Haracio, Carlson's son, Devin and Robin, Cory and his wife.  Good to see friends and family.

Feeling Sad Today

Our friend Kyle Rooke was killed last night on the oil fields.  He was caught in an explosion.  Our prayers go out to Brenda and James.  Tyler went to their house last night after getting home from the wrestles in Marsh Valley.  Brenda asked if I would put their names in the temple today.  She is a great woman.  Hope they will have the Lord's comfort at this time.

The boys did well last night.  kody won both of his matches and Tyler won his match against Marsh Valley.  American Falls kid he lost by points but wrestled hard.

I love my new camera with my old lense from the 35mm camera.  I like getting up close without the flash over powering the photo.  Here are some pics of the flowers from my outdoor pots I brought inside.  This is Hailey's dresser that I have been working on.  I painted it turquoise and distressed it then added bead handles.  Very whimsical for her new bedroom.  She says it is colorful like she is.  Fits her personality.

Home Wrestling Double Dual

Kody just as the ref is lifting his hand to slap the mat for the pin.  LOVE IT!
The boys wrestled hard at the home dual last night.  These pictures are both just as the ref is hitting the mat for the pin.  What an intense sport.  The boys both love it.  Tyler is wrestling Varsity as a Senior and Kody is wrestling Varsity as  Freshman.  The crowd was great at supporting the boys.  Maybe because this is one of the only sports that is getting some wins in Teton High School.

For all of you ladies who like to bake, or those of you who do not.  Every woman should have a Bosch mixer.  I use mine at least once a week to make homemade bread.  It takes about 2 hours but there is absolutely no effort with this baby.  You add the ingredients and let the Bosch do the work.  My family hasn't bought bread for over a year.(Unless I was out of town).  Ladies put this on your wish list.  You will be so in love too!

Perfect way to wake up

What a beautiful place to live.  This is what I saw this morning when I woke up.  Can't beat the view out here.

I do wish that the weather could be a little kinder.  We have been below zero every night for a while now.  Jack Frost leaves a beautiful mark on this place though.  I took these from the window.  They probably could have been better photos if I had stepped out side.  I was not brave enough to face that kind of cold but I think they turned out pretty good.
Elli was treating herself to Daddy's chips as her late night snack last night.  She wants whatever her Daddy has.  He is a softy and gives in to her.  I can't blame him.  Look at that face.

December 2010 Higlights

For us December is quite a crazy month.  We have Cami's Birthday on the 15th, mine on the 16th and everything in between.  These are some pictures of the kids this month.  Cami and Hannah at the Christmas program.  Lexie and her friend Hanna Hansen also at the Tetonia Christmas program.  And of course Lexie and Cami together.  I love to hear kids sing.  They all did a great job.

Being in the stake Young Womens has been one of my favorite callings.  Our youth council planned an "end of the year" party.  All the wards met at the Stake Center and played video games, watched "How to Train Your Dragon", played Twister and a few card and board games.  Our job was to keep them all in the cultural hall and keep them fed.  We had great food and the kids all seemed to be having an awesome time.

New Years Eve we spent at the Cain's.  Shane and Annie were also there.  I love to see friends and family get together for a good time.  Seth and Elli ran til they couldn't run anymore.  They have a little crush on each other.  Seth is always giving her a peck on the cheek and she is having NO part of that.  So cute to watch these two.  So full of love and energy for everyone around them.
This is a picture of Kody and Chelle.  They are both in Ambiance Choir.  Very good program.  The boys Choir stole the show with the opening act.  The Prayer of the Children, sung perfect.  Not that I am prejiduce.  It truly was awesome.  Don't think I have heard anything better.  Chelle and Kody did an awesome job. Pretty impressive for Freshman.

Changin it up

Well our weight loss challenge is comming to an end and I cannot be happier with how it worked.  We learned a lot but most of all it was a lot of fun.  There has been some awesome success.  Tiffany, Noelle, Natalie, Annie,  and so many others.  There is noticable differnces in their appearance.  Weight and measurements don't really matter.  It is really what is on the inside that makes us who we are.  I have enjoyed the journey and want to thank all of yu for participating.  Who knows what will happen in the future.  We may try it again.
